Lapland

Reindeer, huskies, Santa Clause and freezing nostrils
See photos

I had the pleasure of visiting to Lapland for the day last weekend.

At -15°C, it’s easily the coldest place I’ve ever been to. With the excessively cold temperature, the moisture in the air made the place sparkle, something that added to the Christmas spirit.

Another thing the extremely icy atmosphere lead to, was a runny nose – which was literally freezing within my nostrils. A very strange feeling to experience!

Anyway, I took this shot of the sunset over the frozen lake next to Santa’s grotto using my old Fuji X100. It’s about the best landscape shot I took during the day as operating a camera without my gloves on was quite painful!
