Nicole and Nick

A Hollywood inspired wedding at the Pembroke Lodge, Richmond
See photos

I am seriously lucky, living where I live in south west London. 45 minutes in any direction I can either be in the capital or in the stunning countryside.

And sometimes, I get to photograph weddings in locations that somehow combine the two. Nick and Nicole’s wedding at Pembroke Lodge in Richmond was just that.

Taking place last December, it really was such a pleasure to be their wedding photographer.

Getting ready at the Richmond Hill Hotel

My coverage started at the Richmond Hill Hotel, just outside of the Royal Park. It was a relaxed atmosphere and as you can see, the light was real treat to work with as Nicole and her bridesmaids got ready.

At Pembroke Lodge

The wedding ceremony and reception took place at Pembroke Lodge, a unique Grade II listed Georgian Mansion situated at the highest point within Richmond Park. As venues go, it really is a fantastic place work, with friendly and helpful staff and something to photograph in every corner.

Nicole and Nick’s ceremony was a fun occasion, with a speech that included the lyrics to a romantic song – the name of which escapes me, but hearing the groomsmen read it out complete with the words “oooh yeah baby”, brought a smile to everyones face.

After the ceremony, they headed upstairs to the Russell Suite where the couple and their guests mingled, while being entertained to a few tunes by Swinghearts. Music is clearly a big thing for Nicole and Nick, as later on during the meal they had the rather ace musician Danny Mills taking requests on his piano much to the delight to everyone.

Overall, their wedding was a fantastic day. I really can’t overstate how much I enjoyed photographing it.
